Your Park needs YOU!

The Friends of Lowndes Park committee needs a Secretary – could you help?

Our group was set up in 2007 with the goal of acting as a conduit between the people of Chesham and the Town Council. In this time, we’ve achieved a lot. We’re now looking to expand our friendly and relaxed Committee and welcome in new ideas and energy.

The role of Secretary has recently become available – could you be the person we’re looking for?

It’s a Voluntary role and your main duty would be to help keep us organised, as well as helping to shape the future of the Park.

About Us:

Over the last 13 years we have offered support and advice on the park, organised the popular Lowndesbourne Town Picnic and undertaken various practical gardening activities, in addition to raising significant amounts of money for projects within Lowndes Park.

We relaunched just over a year ago and on average we meet every six weeks. Meetings last for an hour and are usually accompanied by a glass of wine!

About the role:

The Friends of Lowndes Park are now seeking someone to volunteer to help shape the future of the park and keep us organised.

The main duties of the role are:

  1. To take the notes/minutes of the committee meetings and the AGM
  2. Set up meetings
  3. Keep a record of the past minutes.
  4. Generate an agenda for each meeting in liaison with the Chair and committee and distributing it.
  5. Organise the AGM, including contacting the Mayor and other relevant people
  6. Send out Fundraising letters
  7. Manage/monitoring of the Friends email (mostly forwarding any enquires to the Chair)

Please have a look around our website to find out more about us, and contact us to arrange an informal chat.

We look forward to hearing from you.
