There are ongoing consultations about the play area and equipment.

The town council developed a Play Strategy in 2008, which prioritised the park’s play area for refurbishment. The equipment in the main play area was installed by Proludic Play Ltd in 2009, following extensive consultation with residents and is intended to promote inclusive and imaginative play by two to 13 year olds. This equipment is has proved to be highly popular with the age range of children it is aimed at.
It was officially re-opened by the Mayor, Cllr Justine Fulford, on the 7th August 2009.

The main children’s play area is located along the southern edge of the park and is surrounded by a hedge with gated access. There is a footpath leading up to the play area from the Rue de Houilles.
