Our Gardening Group are nominated for an Award!

Calling all Cheshamites and Lowndes Park lovers – cross your fingers for our amazing Gardening Group!

We’re thrilled to announce that our team of gardening volunteers have been nominated for a Mayoral Award.

The Mayoral Awards are given out to recognise community heroes and brilliant businesses. I think we can all agreed that the Friends of Lowndes Park gardeners are certainly heroes. Working in all weathers and often donating the flowers themselves, they have quietly and consistently been making our park beautiful for years – and all on a voluntary basis.

The Volunteer Team Award will be announced on the 9th May at the Chesham Town hall. The winning team will receive £150 towards their work.

So, jolly good luck to Joan, Phil and the team. Our collective fingers are crossed for you.

Become a volunteer and join our working parties

We’re always on the hunt for new people to join us.

Working parties are held:

  • Every Monday 2pm – 4pm at the Bandstand – we’re currently very short of volunteers.
  • Every 2nd Sunday of the month 10am-12pm. Meet at Archena Gardens.

FoLP volunteers help maintain the flower beds surrounding the Performance Area, Archena Gardens and the scented garden. We’ve also planted many of the beautuful bulbs you’ll see around the park.

No previous experience required – we always welcome an extra pair of hands.
