Working parties are back! Come and join us.

The world is opening up again, the sun is shining (sometimes!) and the Lowndes Park working parties are back! Come and join us.

To help keep our wonderful park in tip-top beautiful condition, a merry band of volunteers gather on a regular basis to help with gardening, planting, litter picking…and socialising and having fun of course.

The group hasn’t been able to meet for a while, so we’re thrilled to say that the working parties are back.

As you can imagine there’s lots of work to be done but to start with, they concentrated on weeding the beds and doing some pruning.

We’re always looking for new members to join us.

If you’d like to find out more contact Joan Clark on 01494 783035 or Phil Folly on 01494 783691

Friends of Lowndes Park working party

The working parties usually take place every Monday and on the second Sunday of the month (see Events for timings and where to meet).

Watch this space – new event coming soon!

Check out our past events.

AGM – for members. Sunday 8th September. 2pm

Members are invited to our Annual General Meeting

Come and find out about our achievements, our plans and have your say in the park’s future.

In the spirit of change, we are for the first time in our twelve year history going to hold our AGM in Lowndes Park – we hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us.

For those of you who are new to our AGM our Chair, Michael Rowan, has a record of keeping these to an hour. Each AGM comes with his personal guarantee that you will be free to enjoy the rest of your day after 60 minutes!

Should the weather prevent us from meeting in the park we have arranged to meet in the Guide Hut.

We thought that it might be nice to offer a glass of wine or cordial to our members so that after the meeting we might get to know one another and if the weather is nice then you could bring a picnic and stay in the park a bit longer.

We look forward to seeing you there.

2nd March 2019: Join us at Chesham’s Fairtrade Breakfast

We’re launching our new logo and website!

Fairtrade Chesham’s volunteers will be cooking up a storm on Saturday morning for Fairtrade Fortnight. And we’ll be there to launch this new website and show off our fab new logo.

There will be hot and cold breakfasts, including options for vegetarians, vegans and dairy-free. Pop into the town hall at any point between 9am and noon for a warm welcome and delicious Fairtrade food and drink.

There will also be a Traidcraft stall, showing just some of the huge range of Fairtrade foods now on the market.

2019 Every Monday and 2nd Sunday: Gardening Working Party. JOIN US!

Help us make the park even more beautiful!

We need volunteers to help us keep Lowndes Park in tip top condition.

Come along to our next working party and join a small team of dedicated volunteers. It’s fun, great for your health and gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling when you do something to help your community.

Working parties are held:

  • Every Monday 2pm – 4pm at the Bandstand – we’re currently very short of volunteers.
  • Every 2nd Sunday of the month 10am-12pm. Meet at Archena Gardens.

FoLP volunteers help maintain the flower beds surrounding the Performance Area, Archena Gardens and the scented garden. We’ve also planted many of the beautuful bulbs you’ll see around the park.

No previous experience required – we always welcome an extra pair of hands.

We’re always fundraising for more plants and equipment. Can you help by becoming a member for just £1 a month?

If you’d like to find out more about joining a working party, please contact us.
